The Scottish Storytelling Centre is committed to complying with the Data Protection Act (1998) and to upholding the principles of good information handling practice.The Scottish Storytelling Centre will not loan, rent or sell to third parties information collected through the StoryLab website, and the information you submit to the StoryLab website will be kept confidential and secure once it reaches our server.
Any personal information you provide through your registration with and use of the StoryLab website will only be used for the following purposes by the Scottish Storytelling Centre:
- updating records of StoryLab and Scottish Storytelling Centre activities;
- sending you updates, either via post or email, about StoryLab and Scottish Storytelling Centre events, projects and initiatives that may be of interest;
- compiling information relating to your use of the Scottish Storytelling Centre’s services and defining areas of interest to you.
The Scottish Storytelling Centre does not assume responsibility for confirming the ongoing accuracy of your personal data. You can change your personal data by making amendments in the ‘My StoryLab’ section of the Website.
Registration
In order to register with StoryLab you are required to submit your first name, surname and email address. You may also submit your address, although you are not obliged to do so. When you have registered with StoryLab, you will receive an email notifying you of your username and password, allowing you access to the ‘My StoryLab’ section of the site and your personal StoryLab account.
When logging in to your StoryLab account, you have 6 chances to correctly enter your username and password. In the event that you enter your username and/or password incorrectly more than six times, you will be locked out of the My StoryLab section and advised to email storylab@scottishstorytellingcentre.com to obtain a new password.
The Scottish Storytelling Centre may suspend and/or terminate (either in whole or in part) your use of any username, password or this Website immediately for any reason.
By registering with the StoryLab website or otherwise submitting your personal data via the Website, you are consenting to the processing of your personal data for the purposes and by the means set out above. If you would prefer not to receive post and/or email updates from StoryLab or the Scottish Storytelling Centre, please email storylab@scottishstorytellingcentre.com or click ‘unsubscribe’ at the foot of your most recent StoryLab e-bulletin.
Children
The Scottish Storytelling Centre takes child protection very seriously, and all Storytelling Directory members have an Enhanced Disclosure certificate.
Children under the age of 16 should obtain permission from their parents before registering as a member of StoryLab. Anyone under the age of 16 who submits event details, images or other forms of content for inclusion on the website will be sent a permission form which must be signed by two parents and/or guardians and returned to the StoryLab team before this content can be posted on the website.
